  • What is the process for applicants from Washington D.C jurisdiction to apply for an Emergency Service for VISA?

    Emergency Service is available ONLY for US passport holders of Indian Origin. Non US Passport holders are NOT permitted to apply.

    Emergency Service has a fee that the Consulate charges to expedite the VISA application process. Applicants of Atlanta jurisdiction have to apply for:
    ‘Entry Visa’ 6 Months Multiple Entry Visa
    OR
    ‘Tourist Visa’ 10 Years Multiple Entry Visa

    NOTE:
    • Consulate will grant 6 Months Multiple Entry or Tourist Visa for Emergency Service
    • The duration of Visa granted by the Consulate will be at the Consulate’s discretion

    Step 1
    Applicants from Atlanta Jurisdiction must take prior approval for applying for Emergency Service ‘In Person from the Consulate between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM, at the below address:

    Step 2
    Submit the completely filled VISA application in person to CKGS VISA Application Center at the address given below:

    Visa Categories
    You can apply for a:
    • Tourist Visa 10 Years Multiple Entry with Emergency Fees but the Consulate may grant only a 6 Months Visa
    • Entry Visa 6 Months Multiple Entry with Emergency Fees

    No Emergency service at CKGS on weekend. However, applicants may contact the Consulate’s phone number (404-941-7528) for Emergency visa assistance.

    • STANDARD DOCUMENTS
      As per the Document Checklist of the applied Visa Category (Entry / Tourist).

    • ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS
      For Adults
      Proof of Indian Origin
      Copy of Indian passport OR
      Copies of parents Indian passport
      Proof of Emergency
      Medical Note from Doctor / Hospital in India on their letterhead OR
      Copy of Death Certificate OR
      Legal Document if Emergency is Legal
      Flight tickets (if applicable)
      Proof of Renunciation of Indian Citizenship
      CKGS Payment Receipt


      For Minors
      All documents as per the Document Checklist including:
      Parental Authorization Form
      OR
      Passport copies of both parents
      OR
      Copy of birth certificate
      AND
      Proof of Emergency
      Medical Note from Doctor / Hospital in India on their letterhead OR
      Copy of Death Certificate OR
      Legal Document if Emergency is Legal
      AND
      Flight tickets (if applicable)
      Proof of Renunciation of Indian Citizenship
      CKGS Payment Receipt
    NOTE: Both parents’ signatures are required on the VISA form and it should be Notarized. DO NOT sign the documents on your own; the Notary Officer will require you to SIGN in his / her presence.

    Proof of Renunciation of Indian Citizenship is mandatory.

    IMPORTANT: The decision making of a VISA application for an Emergency Service rests solely and exclusively with the Consulate. The Consulate reserves the right to grant/deny an Emergency Service without assigning reasons and the decision of the Consulate is final and binding upon you. It is at the discretion of the Consulate to issue Emergency Service on a VISA. CKGS does not play any role in the decision making of a VISA application for an Emergency Service of a VISA Application for an Emergency Service.
